Artspace2Let is a not for profit organisation dedicated to exhibiting new and emerging artists' work in and around Edinburgh.

We know what it's like trying to get a foot on the art-career ladder, so we keep commission charges low, assist with hanging work and help artists to make connections that will hopefully help them to develop a supportive and informed network of contacts - as well as hopefully finding buyers.

Morali-Silver, Estelle

Estelle Morali-Silver “I love where I live, a Victorian tenement in Tollcross, and I was inspired to record the memories of the building and the people who live there. When I took a portrait of my dear neighbour Frank, I suddenly realised that I had been living in the same flat for 7 years and yet I hardly knew him. But this photo session brought us together – I now know Frank well and we exchange more than just a simple Hello.

“Yet what about the other faces I see every day outside my door? How well do I know them?

“Tollcross is as anonymous as any other urban area. It is also a wonderful place to live in with its diversity and its cultural wealth. With my project, Faces from around the Corner, I wanted to meet the people who make the place what it is and take their portraits. Each portrait is a testimonial of the area. On a personal level it has been a fascinating experience to meet people with such diverse and unusual stories.”

Estelle is originally from France but has been living in Scotland for thirteen years. She teaches Modern Languages in a High School in Edinburgh. Estelle discovered photography in 2007 and rapidly focused her work on portraiture.

As well as the work on display, Estelle is delighted to work on specific commissions. Please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more information.
