Artspace2Let is a not for profit organisation dedicated to exhibiting new and emerging artists' work in and around Edinburgh.

We know what it's like trying to get a foot on the art-career ladder, so we keep commission charges low, assist with hanging work and help artists to make connections that will hopefully help them to develop a supportive and informed network of contacts - as well as hopefully finding buyers.

"Growing up, I always had an urge to create something drawing and painting using whatever I could find other than the traditional materials, but just for fun. For instance, on multiple occasions I used my mom’s cosmetics to paint, which was fun till she decided to hide them from me or get flour from the kitchen mix it with glue and play around with it. I enjoyed experimenting with unusual materials. Some attempts successful and some not so. However, that did not bother or deter me, to the contrary it just pushed me try out more materials. These experiences have helped me evolve into the artist I am today.

"It wasn’t until my second year of Junior college that I developed a keen interest in art along with Philosophy, after which I pursued my Undergraduate studies in Philosophy and continued learning and developing my drawing and sketching skills on the side. After experimenting with and learning about a variety of media and styles, I found my preferred medium - a black liner and paper. Most of my work is in black ink. My source of inspiration is a basic element – a line. I am amazed by how a line is simple yet riddled with complexities. I love to create designs that are either geometrical with definite and hard lines or organic designs with fluidity.

"Details are an integral part of my work. I constantly challenge myself to create more detailed and intricate patterns than the previous piece. I often leave the black line work bare and untouched by color to expose a labyrinth of tiny details giving the piece its unique characteristics. After all, the devil is in the detail! Or occasionally embellish the line work with bright and vibrant colors. I prefer working freehand; I believe that gives me more control over my work."
